Vaibhav Anand

Vaibhav is a Assistant Professor at the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science at the St. John’s University, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business.

Vaibhav has more than nine years of experience in financial services and risk management. His area of expertise includes financing and transfer of risk through structured products and insurance.

He was previously a Partner at IFMR Capital (now Northern Arc Capital), where he headed the Risk Analytics division and developed data-driven analytical models to better understand borrower behavior and risk. He was also pivotal in the development and subsequent risk management of structured finance products across multiple asset classes including commercial vehicle, small business loans, affordable housing finance, and microfinance. Prior to this, he was a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Risk Management division in Dubai and Muscat, where he designed an auto insurance research study for an insurance regulator.

He holds a B. Tech. in Engineering Physics from IIT Bombay and an MBA from IIM Lucknow. He is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from GARP, USA.
